Around Obadiah Residential Village
Obadiah Residential Village is nestled in an area known as the Three Brothers Region. This area encompasses three mountains which, individually, are known as South Brother, Middle Brother & North Brother mountains.
Around 25 kilometres north of Taree is the stunning mountainous Three Brothers Region. For a unique drive through lush hinterland and pristine bushland, turn west from the Pacific Highway at the South Moorland into Forest Road. This leads onto the unsealed Coopernook Forest Drive with interesting attractions along the way.
Stop at Newbys Cave, a 5 minute walk from Newbys Creek Road, then on to Newbys Lookout which is wheelchair friendly and a great place to observe soaring wedge-tailed eagles. Newbys and Flat Rock Lookouts afford sweeping views from the Lansdowne Escarpment and Starrs Creek Rainforest Area has great picnic facilities and a rainforest boardwalk.
There are two massive Blackbutt trees near Middle Brother Mountain. Marvel at the Bird Tree which is the second largest tree by volume in New South Wales with a diameter of 3.6 metres and height of 69 metres.
Nestled between three National Parks is the pretty hinterland village of Hannam Vale. Free from the hustle and bustle of daily life, visit the local general store for directions, refreshment or a good ole country chat. Pop up the road to Waitui falls and over the summer period pick some of the juiciest berries straight from the fields at the local berry farm.
To the east is the village of Moorland which in exchange for a quick detour off the highway you can taste the “best scones on the coast” and some of the sweetest, tastiest fresh orange juice in the region. Moorland is the gateway to Coorabakh National Park.
Further north along the highway, the bypassed village of Johns River is now a peaceful setting with views to the Brother Mountains. Lively markets are held on the 2nd Saturday of the month showcasing local products and fresh produce. Listed below are some interesting things to see and do in the Three Brothers Region.

The Blacksmiths Inn is conveniently located just off the Pacific Hwy in the rural village of Johns River. The tavern is very rustic with timber decor and there is outdoor and indoor seating (seats 65 indoors and 100 outside). Old blacksmith artefacts are on display along with historical photos.
